Observing the Gemsbok or Oryx, on a Namibian journey, I noticed about them an acceptance and near-defiance of their desolate environment, Their determined and unflappable nature, standing proud in a sea of sand with painted faces and speared horns turned skyward. By emphasizing the complementary purple and gold hues, one can imagine how the world looks through the optimistic eyes of such a regal creature.
