The very much real & alive ‘unicorns’
Websters Dictionary 1823
“Unicorns are a species of Rhinoceros”
Marco Polo said about his unicorn encounter,
“Their hair is that of a buffalo, their feet those of an elephant. In the middle of the forehead a large single horn.. their head like that of a wild bore & always carried bent to the ground.
A hideous beast to look at, No Way Like What We Think & Say in our countries.
I assure you it is quite opposite of what we say it is.”
Safe to say he was disappointed.
But safe to say I am not !
As this myth turns from imagination to reality
I find the real ‘unicorns’ & their story way more beautiful than the misinterpreted horse with a horn.
