' Reign of Fire'

The awe and unease of our ludicrously accelerating technological ascent is the inspiration behind this work.  As our world is changing so this work also is a departure from the calm content place I like to recharge from.

I hope that the power and significance of this piece will be felt as strongly as I felt when painting it, the overwhelming strength and obvious metaphors should speak with no words.

Other than saying that this painting is a cross between where the currents of heaven meet the striving of earth and where creation rides the reins of living fire, I will leave any interpretation of this piece up to the viewer.

Side note: based on the famous Bronze sculpture titled the Quadriga at the Wellington Arch in London.  I loved the drama and wildness portrayed in the bridled horses pulling a chariot of war driven by a young boy with peace standing on top.   I have chosen not to include the boy or the angel of peace and instead focus on  the  apocalyptic drama playing out in our new world.
